Cape Town

Text written in: English

At 7am ish we landed - very nice landing too, in 20 C rather than 5C weather it was partly cloudy but that soon burnt off to be a blazing hot day getting up to 27C ish. We got picked up at 9am from the airport and taken to where we are now which is Ashanti lodge (with pool and pool tables + bar!!!!!)

So what have we done today? Once we arrived I got "silly" and "annoying" (Nikkis words) - in mine just excited. This place is amazing, sorry to keep on about it but it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We thought we would go for a short walk to the Marina - 2 hours later we got there after (stopping off at many colorful shops) to find seals playing in the harbor which we watched for half hour our so before going to the sports bar for a quick pint - only 80p hahahahahahah

We then carried on window shopping which meant I told nikki she could not buy 10000000000 wooden giraffes to send home to Clive or her mum! After this we went to the Two Oceans Aquarium and watched some wicked displays and things before starting the hour or so walk back in the cool temperature of 27 C!

Our plans for the near future are to go to the top of Table Mountain (you couldn't have guessed could you!), dive with the sharks, maybe go to the Cape of Good Hope or do our padi course?????? But most of all have a SHOWER AS WE STINK

Well we are still in Cape Town and haven't done too much that will make you
jealous - Yeah Right!!

Tuesday

We travelled 3rd class on a train to a lovely coastal town called Simon's
Town, and yes even the lady at the ticket kisok couldn't beleive we wanted
to travell 3rd class, to say we were the only white people on the whole
train is no exaggeration and i felt a little uneasy. When we got there we
took a short stroll to Boulders Bay to see the penguin collony it was unreal
- see the pics attached!
Oh yeah and for lunch i had barracuda with pleasure.

Wednesday
We thought it was time to finally make it to the top of the mountain -
thats Table Mountain incase ur not sure. We started to walk up at 12.30 in
the 30'C heat with no water or fluids -yeah i know no forward planning and
we didin't get up there without any form of help. About a quarter of the way
up a nice old lady called Christine Carter stopped and offered us a lift to
the Cable Car.
When we got to the top we strolled around then my better half decided it
would be a good idea to (see pics)

To say i shit myself was no understatement and i would rather jump out of a
plane every day for the next year but it was an amazing experience. After
that we decided to go for a nice meal so Nikki had ostrictch and i had
Warthog Steak both were lush.

Thursday

We woke at 5.30 which was the time our transport was picking us up so we
threw on our clothes and jumped in a van to Hermanus, we then got on a boat
and oh my god - check out the pics.
After that the boat took us to see a seal colony which stank.

Tomorrow we leave Cape Town :-{ for Mossle bay and some sleep!
