We started the long drive North up to Cape Reinga most of the drive was on sealed roads but the las 20km was on gravel roads which had a lot of pot holes that would have swallowed a car whole. We didnt meet a single car on the gravel road but when we got to the car park at the end there were 5 coach loads of tourists and 10cars and campervans. We walked to the end and saw where the to Oceans of this part of the world meet, the Tasman and the Pacific ocean meet you could almost see a line where the 2 met.
We started to drive back down south and went to visit 90mile beach, this was a beach where cars were allowed to drive along, we hadn't tested the 4wheel drive out to the fullest. We decided to visit an Ancient Kauri Museum that we had past on the way up north. This was full of huge chainsaw carvings of coffe tabels, sofas and the worlds largest intenal stair case that was carved into the inside of a tree trunk. When i win the lottery i will go back and furnish my house, most of the bigger pieces were $40-$50,000, the the tables and chairs were $5-$6,000 each as well.
The next day we headed for Auckland, and started to sort the car out and throw away all the junk that we had collected over the past three months. We left it in the Airport car park and caught our plane flight to Fiji.
