I left to catch the flight to Chicargo and then Lexington on christmas morning and 3am, so no sleep that night. I had a 0630 flight to catch which was going to make it a very long day. The air port was packed in Chicargo, which was supprising for a christmas day and people were actually choosing to fly. It wasnt to bad though, the Dads flight landed an hour after mine did and then we cot one of the college minibuses to Berea and headed to our hosts house for a Christmas dinner. By 9pm that  evening tho we were all starting to fade and went to bed early.

The was the school was run, if you wanted, seemed to be 'you only need a few hours sleep a night'. The session starter at 9am everyday and the organised things stopped at 1130pm, then there was the after dance, dance and the the parties, which moved around different houses every night. The earliest I went to sleep was 1.30am and the latest on new years day was 8am.

I guess this would have to be one of, or the top weeks in my year away. You get trees and rocks every where, and ive seen some amazing places and secnery, but its the people that make a place what it is. The sense of community there and making new friends was massive, more than any other folk gatherings in the UK that ive been to. It was good to get back dancing again after a few years away from it and to try different styles of dance that I havent tried yet. I will definitely be returning to Berea in the not to distant futuer, to catch up with old friends and friends just made.

The plane trip home was a long one. Chicargo had its usual problems with the weather and was holding up what seemed like the whole of the US. My flight was put back by a few hours so that an earlier flight that was delayed by 6hrs could go, I flashed my UK passport and the chechin lady got me on the flight. My bags werent going to make it, but at least I would be starting to make my way home.
