Had a nice trip from Hue once my head/gut stopped complaining at mistreatment, saw 120km in 5 hours on the ticket and figured there must be a hill or two but turned out half of it was flat and the rest was an amazing climb up over an incredibly steep and picturesque mountain range with the sea on either side.
Living it up at the moment in a $12 hotel in Hoi An that even has a shower curtain! Seem to have traded that for having a curtain on the window in the shower which isn't really a problem for me but no idea what women are meant to do.
Mostly just been slacking around so far here, the seafood is just brilliant and there's heaps to choose from, last night for example I had squid/prawns/some sorta fish/squid kebab type thing with three sauces followed by coffee/orange ice cream. I stink at describing food but it's damn good anyway.
Everyone's still wanting to sell something here but the tailor women all say I'm handsome as part of their sales pitch so I can live with it, it's amazing how universal the pitch is though, practically every single one is 'hello' 'where you from?' 'australia' 'g'doy moit/cobber' 'how long in hoi an?' 'come buy my crap'. Have got it down to discouraging them by the 'where you from?' now though so aint a problem just think it's kinda wacky. Is hard to find somewhere peaceful to read though, considering hiring a boat just for some quiet time though the old women that run the boats are probably the pushiest lot in town, they seem to have given up on being sweet and just yell at people which is a bit of a riot.
Off to find somewhere for lunch, restaurants seem universally good here and there's a huge market with food stalls in it that I'm yet to try but look worth a go, the market itself is great to just walk through for the sheer variety of smells and wacky foods I've never seen before.
