Goodbye to Oz and why I am an idiot

Text written in: English

I had a big long entry typed out and ready to go all to do with the trials and tribulations associated with tryong to sell my car over the last 10 days, but I managed to erase it, so this abbreviated version will have to do (please see title of entry).
I've had a great time in Melbourne spending time with Stacey and her family despite the stress of being unable to sell my car for so long. I am truly awestruck by the generosity of her family and by how nice her mom has been to me especially after staying with them for so long. I've been to a Phd graduation, the Victorai Markets and an AFL game (Aussie rules football to the layman) and even camping with Stacey and her boyfriend Ross in a state forest about 200 km's from Melbourne.
As well as this I managed to screw up the dates of my flights to New Zealand, which is why I am still in Oz and not in NZ yet. A 4am urgent, pleading phone call was necesary on the 17th to get my flight changed to the 20th when I realised (at 4am) that Tuesday was the 17th and not Wednesday as I had convinced myself despite looking at my itinerary a dozen time over the past weeks.
On the plus side I managed to sell my car at long last - taking $1400 for it from Kim from Korea who I hope and pray understands the license transfer proceedure (I'm not sure he did when I explained it to him). The car had cost me $1600 and I spent $200 on service and a further $100 changing my flight so in the end the car ended up costing me about $500 - not bad when you consider that I went more than 12,000 kms in it.
All is all Oz has been amazing and despite the hassles I had with my car I wouldn't have done it any other way. The freedom of my own car was something I really think I would not have been able to experience on a bus or on a tour (having said all this though, I ain't buying another one in NZ).
Thats it for now - next stop New Zealand.
