Iguacu falls, the biggest in the world ( by some measurment, not quite sure, but they looked damn big to me).
Oh how the guide book lies. Two full days to see either side?
Perhaps if you have prosthetic limbs. Spent one afternoon there and saw
all there was to see on the Argie side, including going on a speed boat
ride into the 'Devil's throat', the biggest fall. Unfortunately i was
on a boat with a highly excited group of Argentine youths (honestly, i
didn't think people could GET that excited). It was pretty amazing,
particularly the huge wave which swamped my side (of course) of the
boat 2 minutes in. Something wierd happened when we got really close
too- it was really hard to breathe, like when you go really fast with
the car window open, my GCSE Physics knowledge tells me it might have
been due to the force of the water pushing the air out of the way
(geek).
So i was absolutely and completely drenched, so i went home, leaving a wet patch on the bus seat.
And so ends my stay in this beautiful, vibrant, passionate and proud
country (i should work for thier tourist board). Feeling like i have
unfinished bsuiness here, would like to stay longer, eat more steak
etc. But Brazil is alluringly close.
Lessons learned from Argentina-
- Don't wear flip flops in Buenos Aires. Little doggies still poo, alot.
- You CAN have too much steak, especially after midnight.
- Spending money still counts as spending money, even if it is in Pesos.
- Red wine still gives hangovers, even if you eat lots of steak with it.
- Don't wear brand new knee length boots with killer heels to
particularly greased up barbecue restaurants, you WILL have an
embarassing accident.
-Opera is just as boring in SouthAmerica as it is anywhere else.
- Tango is the dance that greasy Chavs were born to do.
And the best -
Diego Maradona had his stomach stapled!
... the truth is i never left you...........
