The map lied. There was no mountain pass only a slight incline with a few windy bends. All that self induced terror for nothing.
We arrived into Toledo in the early afternoon unscathed. Due to the fact that the El Greco campground is on the outskirts of Toledo, is the only one in town, as well as the closest and nicest it is also the most expensive. Hence we will only be doing one night here. Had a quick bite to eat and then it was off to explore the town.
This place is incredible. It is by far our favourite Spanish town so far. The city sits high up on a hill surrounded by a river and it is filled with beautiful ornate buildings and tiny narrow streets. We loved it and we took tons of photos. The downside is that it was chockers full of tourists but we sort of expected that anyhow. We could have wandered around here all day. As it was because we arrived around lunch time, we still managed to see heaps before the sun went down.
We loved it lots. Anyone coming to Spain should come and check this place out.
