Got up at 5am to get the bus from Chiquián to Huaraz. At least we were not wasting another day, but it didn't help me - I wanted to get a night bus.
Went to the hostel, repacked my pack, had a shower and headed down to the travel agent. WTF?!
Needless to say, it took us over eight hours to come to an agreement with them, and it wasnt a great one at that. The manager wanted us to pay for the four days we were away...
In the end, Idu and Amir got to do the hike again for free (but with horses to meet their time constraints) and I was given most of my money back... not really the issue - I didn't want money back, I wanted the experience. Oh well, another reason to come to South America again <grin>.
Realised when I paid for dinner that night that some of the money the agent had given me looked dodgy... I don't know if it was fake, but I managed to offload it to some shop :)
On a side note, I weighed myself (I needed to know how much my backpacks weighed) and I haven't lost weight! Wierd, because I keep getting told I look skinnier. Guess the weights moved somewhere! It's a mystery to me :) The bad news is my packs weigh 35kg. Something I'll have to fiddle with if I'm to make it under the 20kg limit when I fly in a few days <grin>.

I'm now reclined 170 degrees in a huge seat whilst a cute little thing is telling me about the hot food I'm going to be served. Things are looking up! And the man next to me has just changed seats, so I've got two to myself :)
