After Coorg, Mysore was a bit of a let-down. Hot and dusty, it was in that unenviable slot between a real city and a rural headquarters. We checked into a hotel, and explored the town on foot.

The next morning, we visited St. Philomena's Church and the Mysore Palace. The Church was huge, and the Palace more so. We skipped lightly through the different rooms, not having the time to stop and really look at any of the myriad paintings and sculptures there. One day, I hope to go back and get a better look at them!

That night, we took the train back to Chennai.
