Chiswick in London is a part of town with lots of excellent restaurants. As with restaurants they close down, change owners and it's generally a pretty living sort of thing. So, it pays to shop around. Today I decided to go to GBK, which is where I have been eating for most of the past week. It does burgers, nice ones and is run by some Kiwis, so serves the traditional burger with egg, beetroot and pineapple. So for a bit of a taste of home its the place to be.
However, today it was crammed packed with people. So we decided to go for a walk around to La Trompette. I don't really like french cuisine but do like La Trompette, they have an excellent wine cellar.. however there was no one in there, it was just barren. So we kepts walking with the idea that we might go down to Devonshire House for some bar snacks and some wine. As we were walking we went past a new Japanese restaurant. It is next to were the south african restaurant uesd to be. It has a crap interior but clean steady tables and some of the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. It's also cheap. I would have expected to pay around GBP 65-70 for what I ate at any other Japanses place, but no, the bill came to 39 for the two of us.
I have the horrible feeling that people just aren't gonna find this place.. because it's hidden down devonshire road. If you live around the chiswick area, get the word out. It would be a pitty to see this place vanish...
I have also attached some piccies from Brighton the other day... went down to see my mate Rob...
