First days in Aussie Land!!

Hello All!!!!

After 3 days of travelling we finally arrived at Sydney!!! The travel was really long even with the stop over in Thailand because we still had a busy schedule there : after the night in the train, check in the hotel, then straight to the restaurant and then boat trip, market, evening out , and early wake up call (6.00) and visit of the royal palace. Then flight to Taiwan, 4 hours of Transit :( and night in the plane and arrival at Sydney in the morning. After that we went to the hostel but first we stopped to have a nice view of Sydney, and then had to fill in all sort of documents ( to apply for Tax number, Medicare health insurance card...) . then we could finally check in , shower and have free until 17.30 when we would go to a restaurant next to the water and have a BBQ (which turned out to be a buffet and the BBQ was in the kitchen because it was too cold outside. still it was very nice...

Today we did all the admin stuff and I have now my working holiday visum (they did not even ask for the bank statement!!) as well as my tax number and medicare card. still need to open a bank account which seems to be a bit difficult.

Tomorrow, whole day in the national park "blue mountains" and Sunday afternoon a boat trip around Sydney. Monday the group checks out. I am the oldest and only foreigner of the group! it is a bit difficult to relate to the youth but I found a few people a bit closer to my age and a bit more interested in the country than drinking!

So far no problem of jetlag, just tiredness because I still did not get a proper night of sleep.

Please remember that it takes 2 weeks to get post from Europe and another 10 days to redirect the post from Sydney to where I will be living... so not the best communication system.
