The Big Dog and Sheep

Why are Kiwis so obsessed with Big things? At the Big Apple between Kingston and Toronto once I ran into a couple from New Zealand who were really impressed by the Big Apple. They told me all about the Big things in NZ, at more length than I cared for. I just wanted some pie, for goodness' sake!
Anyway, we stopped on our way to Taupo to photograph the Big Dog by night. The Sheep photo didn't really turn out.
