As i had already covered a lot of central Chile I decided to cross the Andes to Mendoza in Argentina for my last few days in Sputh America and enjoy some cheap living. The antibiotic course was finished so one of my first activities was a wine tasting tour - great fun (especially laughing at the guy who had downed his glass before the woman had even begun her explanation - he had to take half his wife`s glass!).
As I was unable to participate in any of the fun activities on offer in Mendoza (trekking, rafting, abseiling...) I headed off on a 2 day mountain bus tour - but to be fair it only took 2 days cos the bus was so shit! All in all it was a bit of a disappointment - rubbish weather (and the bus couldn`t cope with the 2 mm of snow on the road so we had to go back!), a strange choice of "sights" (including a hotel that closed in the 1970s?!) and we spent the night in a ski resort that makes aviemore look like Val D'Isere! Fantastic... Luckily there was a good group of us and we made up for the disappointment with dinner and drinks once we got back.
