Mong'd on the Mekong

From Chiang Mai i got a mini bus to Chiang Khong on the Thai/Lao border.I met Owain and Kass on the back of the bus.The guest house overlooked the Mekong and we had dinner then went to a bar to watch the football.At some point in the evening Kass disappeared and even now has no recollection of his night,only that strange locals were offering him drinks and he felt sick & sore next morning.Oh how me and Owain laughed...
After the trials of sorting out the Thai exit stamps we got a speedboat over to the Laos side of the river.We brought out the cafes supply of Beerlao and boarded the long boat to Luang Prabang.Doors come off hinges-completely blatted we arrived at our overnight stop Pak Beng.Got our first taste of local hospitality by being took to the cleaners.Several times.Went to more bars and drunk til the Electric City was turned off for the night.Early start next morning and another 7 hours on the boat werent enough to dent our spirits...
