Kayaking the Abel Tasman

Text written in: English

Sol got in touch with Ian Trafford the Freelance photographer who would be acting as our guide for our trip.We met up with Traff,Jim and Leanne from England and Cari from Canada. We spent Sunday night at Traffs, taking in the beaches and then the local 'Head community at the local bar.
We set out on Monday,Kayaking along the coast, occasionally stopping so Traff could fire off some shots for the Kayak company (whose gear we were using for FREE!)We made camp the first evening on the beach and dolphins came into the bay to keep us company.I lit a fire and we ate beans and noodles around the camp fire.
Day 2 we started early, heading for Mosquito beach. On the way we passed the seal colony and sat in the water for a while, digging the warm sun and the ickle Mammals playing in the waves.
In the evening we camped at Tonga Bay and met a lone traveller from the Czech Republic called Hansa.I built the Mother Of All Fires and we invited our new friend for supper.Day 3 was hardcore-a 25km row back to Traffs.By this point the last few months abuse i'd dished out to my suffering body started to take its toll and, with home in sight,i began to sweat pure Alcohol.Total Body Shutdown was only narrowly avoided by wolfing a Kinghell steak at the bar washed down with many, many beers.***Just so you know,I didnt do no big detour.I couldnt find Abel Tasman on that damn map thing.Beatch.
