Completely depressed with Peru and Lima I decided that sleeping late in the comfortable bed was about the nicest thing to do in this horrible city. It was also a good excuse not to have another cold shower hehe. Around midday I got up however and I had a hot shower. Yes, my first really nice and hot shower in this country. I had almost given up on that. I decided to shower until the whole boiler was empty, just to annoy any other guests in my hotel and to get my money worth of hot shower.
I went to grey downtown again to visit a few more churches trying to get back my mood, but the churches, although quite beautifully decorated could not impress me. What is wrong with me or with this city or is it just the combination? On my way back home I picked up the cd of the photos I had developed on saturday and thank God they were there.
Hernan had come back from his helicopter flights around Peru for taking pictures of the hotels and in the evening he took me and another friend to a restaurant in Miraflores with typical Peruvian food and I told Hernan to surprise me without killing me. He did and the food was nice and indeed qute typical Peruvian. Thanks Hernan! Nice.
On Tuesday Hernan would take me to the bus terminal. Well, to A bus terminal for a bus to Pisco, my planned next stop. He first took me to Sojuz, a company with buses every 8 minutes to Pisco. Well, to about 5 kilometers outside Pisco to be more accurate. Useless. Why would you have a service to Pisco but not actually go there. First Hernan could not find the place, or better say he took two wrong turns. So easy to have one bus terminal ay Hernan haha?
I knew that Ormeño, another company, had a terminal downtown Pisco and so I told him that I preferred that one. Just easier. Then we came past Cruz del Sur, another bus company with luxurious buses. Unfortunately we found out that they do not go to Pisco. Once again we continued to Ormeño which is downtown but on the way we stopped at another Ormeño terminal. One for international buses. You can go by direct bus to Quito, Bogota and even Caracas and Buenos Aires with thesen people. Who wants that? I don´t know. To Caracas takes about 4 days and nights!
We did not bother to ask here because it was an international terminal and Pisco was not really international but just 235 km south of Lima, along the coast. Hernan dropped me at the Ormeño terminal and drove off as he was not allowed to park there. What a ghetto that neighbourhood is. Not a place to arrive in Lima for the first time I would say. Not even for the second or third time either. What a scary dump. The terminal was also very old and dirty and I decided to open the eyes in my back as well for security as there were quite a few obscure people hanging around.
The next bus to Pisco was in 20 minutes and would leave from their other INTERNATIONAL terminal. Don´t ask, neither did I, but indeed Peruvian logic and NO it was not a bus that continued to Santiago in Chile or so. The next bus from this terminal would leave at 14:30 and would only cost 10 Soles. Quite a bit cheaper I would say then the bus that left from the internationl terminal which was Royal Class and cost 30 soles. The trip should only take 2 hours according to the woman behind the ticket window. Peruvian two hours means three in European hours as there are many more minuts in an hour here than in Europe.
