getting the visa

Decided to get organised with visas in advance, on partial advice from the people who sold the tickets (Explorers) in case Egypt changed the visa conditions... Possible in these times of pre-emptive strikes etc I guess.

The embassy is near Knightsbridge and issues visas for around 15 pounds. It turned out that you don't need to get one in advance, everyone else on the flight got one on arrival. They're pretty rude and you have to apply before 12:30 and come back after 2:30 to pick it up. I killed the time by dropping in on Gerald in Mayfair and having a snooze in Hyde Park, surrounded by the other unwashed masses.
