I flew back through Newark airport which I know quite well...the other two primary airports, JFK and Laguardia, I have flown through but always thought of them as very far out. Upon arrival I took the path train into Manhattan and switched to the line taking me two blocks from my brothers door. I was schleping my stuff in my backpack as I have done since September.
A little about the brownstone. It is located in a primarily African-American section of Brooklyn albeit the area is on the hitlist in terms of gentrification. Just during the period I was living on his street, which consists of probably about 20 brownstones, I saw several new people arriving with demographics somewhat different than the norm.
The place itself consists of a basement (where we later tried our hand at pinhole photography and used the basement as the dark room), the first floor which has a nice sized lounge area and nice kitchen then the next floor has three rooms with my brothers being a huge room with very intricate wood detailing throughout. It is definitely a needle in a haystack. This is where I spent the next five weeks primarily sleeping on the couch and conducting my job hunt from.
