up to Windermere for dinner with Dave and Angie

Text written in: English

The Lakes District is some of the best scenery in the UK. Steve and Tuan live less than an hour away in Poulton-le-Fylde so we decided to drive up after work to Windermere, and go the pub "Hole int Wall" built in 1620 (which was near Bottom of Lake) and have a cosy pint, then meet up with Dave and Angie for dinner.

Dave and Angie are friends of Steve's. Dave's an artist who does awesome paintings and was working on an illustrated children's book. Very impressive. Angie is a photographer, learning Italian (although pretty good at it), and had just broken her heel in an altercation with the staircase.

The meal at King's Head was awesome - I had the slow roasted lamb - cooked slowly over about five hours with just garlic vegetables and a bottle of Aussie red. We were so full afterwards, all we could manage was staring at Dave and Angie's fibre-optic tacky Christmas tree, which they have all year round. Every home needs one.
