Making up for lost time...

Hello! We've been in Vientienne, the capital, for the past 4 days - before that we were in Vang Vieng but didn't write because I had food poisoning! It started on the 7 hour bus journey from Luang Prabang, which wasn't very nice! And when we got to the hotel I was so ill and continued to be for the next 3 days!! Was a shame really because we didn't get to do anything, and really wanted to go tubing, where you float down the river in an old tractor tyre and stop at bars along the way. Also really wanted to explore the caves there but couldn't! Felt really sorry for Rob because he was just looking after me the whole time! Anyway, feels so good to be better now and Vientienne is and old French colony so has the most amazing bakeries and patisseries, and serve amazing coffees - so have been eating loads! Have really enjoyed the last few days - have mainly just been eating and sleeping, looking in book shops and playing pool! The other night we went bowling at this really old-school bowling alley which was really good fun! Today we went to this place called 'Buddha Park' and then to this famous wat. We've just been for dinner on the river front - in the evening all these stalls open and put out little plastic tables and chairs! We had this whole baked fish, spring rolls, fried rice and bbq chicken - mmmmmm! All for about 6 quid! So tomorrow we are flying to Cambodia and only have 4 or 5 days there before going back to Bangkok. Having so mch fun!! And we're only half way through!!!!xxx
