Everyone said not to bother coming here, but we had to see the capital. Think of a large Milton Keynes and you won't be far off. Built in 1960s in only 3 years by basically one architect.  Viewed from the plane the layout is the shape of a bird. A street level you don't notice this, just the fact that clearly they didn't design with pedestrians in mind. No public transport, 6 lane roads to run across and no pavements. Everything is in quadrants; restaurants, hotels, malls, each with unfathomable name codes and massive distances between them. Checked out the modern buildings (now looking a bit dated) and went to the cinema. People were right, we wouldn't have missed much not coming here. The cathedral was nice though.
