So today am heading off to my next work placement as part of the STA Travel 'Earn Your Stripes'. This is working at the Bright Brewery, in Bright. This is a small town up in the mountains of the Great Dividing Range, about 5 hours from Melbourne. When I get to the train station to find my train, I find out that it has been cancelled and I will be traveling on a bus the whole way (reason being I find out is they are rebuilding part of the railway).
Now I have spent a lot of my time traveling on buses so I like to think I am something of an expert on these sort of things. So it was very nice to get on a bus which was clean, smoke free, and although some of the roads at times were bumpy, I was actually able to sleep on board it, something I was unable to do most of the time in Indonesia, due to the rollercoaster feel to the ride.
So get in to Bright and wander around and see a sign to where I am staying at the 'Bright Hikers Backpackers' now that is a mouthful to say, and I do not plan on trying that when drunk. So Bright I come here with high expectations after all the great things the volunteers at the NSM have told me about the place, and to be honest they are right, okay yes I come from the country anyway, so I feel more at home here than I do in Melbourne, but is the sort of place which has that friendly feel to it.
