Mike's Girl Wants To Party All Night

I ended up sleeping about 12 hours and Mike woke me up around 11:30am. We quickly got going and headed over to Westminster Station & Pier, bought a ticket for the river cruise from Westminster to Greenwich, had a bit of time to kill so tried for some better shots of Big Ben. We then boarded the boat and headed on a leisurely cruise down the river seeing the sights from the water (and giving my feet a bit of a rest) to Greenwich. It's amazing the prices people will pay for housing along the river - standard apartments are in the neighbourhood of 1 million pounds, with penthouses a lot more. Then again real estate any where downtown - whether along the river or elsewhere is a lot of money.

We arrived at Greenwich Pier and headed inland to the Royal Observatory where we saw the Prime Meridian line (0 degrees Longitude), were on the National Naval Museum grounds (a huge greenspace) and then headed back into the shops in Greenwich. We hit a pub as both of us had tired feet - though no luck getting a patio spot - and had a few drinks. We wandered on to another pub where we also had supper and another drink. We got onto the Overground (above ground train system) and were heading back to London Bridge station when the girl Mike is currently dating phoned and he agreed to meet up, so we continued on to Charing Cross station and headed out to another pub while her and her friends found something to eat. We had a couple more drinks wondering how long it takes to eat (apparently a long time with 4 dutch girls involved), then moved on to another pub (well, the one we were in was actually shutting down, so we couldn't order anymore) and were walking down the street when she phoned again. They were heading to the pub we had been at (Mike had texted her our location), so we turned around and met them part way and ended up going into another bar - Walkabout, an Aussie bar. All I can say as it was loud and we saw Wonder Woman - don't ask me - I have no idea why.

Again we got chased out of the bar as it was closing and ended up in a third bar, which had multiple levels, all complete with different music and bars. It was fun and we finally got chased out around 3am or so. We walked a few blocks, then waited with the girls while they waited for their taxi (4 dutch girls, 4 different goodbyes - no cheek kiss, one cheek kiss, 2 cheek kisses, and 3 cheek kisses - I was later informed that 3 is the proper dutch way to do it), then we wandered down the street to try to find a bus at 4:15am. Turns out we caught the last one at 4:22am, made it back to London Bridge station, got back to his place around 5am and we crashed.

The main problem with staying up all night is that it pretty much meant I was going to bed around normal time in Canada, so I have no idea if I'm jet lagged or not.
