Off I go again!

Text written in: English

Even thought I had every intention of packing my bag early and getting a good nights sleep, it wasn’t until about midnight that I actually finished; not because I had lots to do, but more because I faffed around all day not doing it.

I did however manage to get some sleep in the 4 hours before getting up again.

Now begins the really long day.

Dad and I left the house around 5. I’d managed to wake Grace enough to give her a hug in bed, and I said goodbye to Mum in the drive. I drove us to the airport, dad giving the directions.

Checked-In straight away; my bag weighed 22kg (!) which I thought was over the limit but she sent it through no problem. Phew.

Bye bye dad, and then through security. I was heavily scrutinised after the metal detector, what with the belt buckle possibly concealing explosive; maybe a razor blade in my passport; something under the belt strap. They were also very suspicious of the poppers on my jeans (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I was eventually deemed not a terrorist (maybe it was the beard) and allowed through.

Typical. There was a Caffé Nero on the other side, and I hadn’t brought a loyalty card entitling me to a free drink. I took one when I went to India, but I was in a different terminal then and they didn’t have one.

Got some new headphones from Dixon’s, but they didn’t have a spare battery for my camera, which I had wanted. Oh well.

The crew for the plane was late. Quite late in actual fact. We didn’t get to board for at least an hour after when we should have. Made me slightly worried about my connecting flight, but I reckoned I’d be alright.
