Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta

Mazatlan is a nice old fishing port, and apparently home to the largest shrimp fleet in the world. Needless to say I ate well here! The beaches remain impressive, with the only problem being that the water is now too warm rather than too cold everywhere else, it just isn't all that refreshing! Have spent another couple of days on beaches and finally managed to get out on a cruise to do some snorkeling. Pretty impressive, but there was a huge thunder storm last night which made the water quite murky so visibility wasn't all that great. Having said that, I was lucky to make the trip at all after sleeping through my alarm (one tequilla too many last night), and typically, the only time I was late for something all trip and the boat turns out to be the only thing in Mexico that was right on time! They had to send a speed boat back from the ship for me so I could catch them up, rather embarrasing when I boarded it has to be said!

It has been great being a true tourist for a few days, everyone here speaks English and the bars on the beach are a good spot to relax and read a book. It's back on the road tomorrow though as I head to Guadalajara for a night and onto Mexico city. It's adios to the beaches for a while and into what I expect will be extreme heat of inland Mexico.

Thanks to everyone who has been sending me e-mails, I'm trying to reply to them and will get there sooner or later!
