After leaving the comfort of Berlin, we headed off to one of the best preserved cities in all of Europe. Somehow avoiding the bombs of WWII that ravaged most of Europe some 60 years ago, Prague has maintained it old world feel that is unrivaled in all of the Europe that I have seen. For blocks and blocks, maybe even kilometers, there is no modern buildings to speak of. It is quite an amazing site after you truly start to pay attention to it. It has the feeling of being dropped in a Shrek movie or any other fairy tale consistenting of a big bad king sitting up on top of his kingdom, the prince riding below to rescue the princess somehow enslaved by this bad king. It is easy to imagine when in Prague...but boy oh boy does it seem that all other tourist of the world have also discovered this. Just as well preserved as Prague is, it is also over run with tourist. Ole and I both agreed that it would be a good idea if they all left...except us of course, but I don't forsee that happening barring another return to communism and the closeing of its borders. Hmm....Maybe George Bush could build a fence around the city and save it from the tourist?
