A week on a boat

This was marvellous. Utterly marvellous. We'd recommend anyone to go for a Galapagos cruise and especially on Nemo...with the people we went with...at this time of year!

The preamble includes the 2 days we spent before the cruise in Puerto Ayora (the largest town in the archipeligo and on San Cristobal). We had been recommended by several fellow travellers to spend time before or after the cruise on one of the islands and 2 days was more than enough time to see everything that PA had to offer. We actually ended up going to PA for a day during our Nemo cruise as well - this was better as we had a guide round the Darwin Research Institute and, well, there isn't much to see in PA! Still, we did the CDRC and saw the Tortoises, went to Tortuga Bay and saw the marine Iguanas and went for a swim in XXXX - a cheeky gorge with lovely cooling brackish water. To conclude the preamble, I wouldn't stay on the Islands for very long unless you want to go diving - you see everything and more and better on the cruise.

So the real action started on Sunday with a trip back to the airport where we waited to join the 10 other Nemo passengers who were flying in from Quito.
