Man the train journey was a long one. Didn't actually step off the train until about 3pm. Not much interesting happened on the journey; I ate various snack foods, played Snake and Bounce on my phone, listened to a few hundred songs on the ipod and attempted to sleep.
Arriving in Kochi, had to get a rickshaw over to the Jetty, and a ferry across to Fort Cochin. Another rickshaw then took me to the hotel I'd selected out of the guide book, and luckily they had a room, for a good price. So that all went according to plan. The hotel and room are both very nice. The manager gave me a tourist map, and information of various sights and activities. There's a communal area upstairs, and they refill water for a third of the price for a new bottle, so save plastic.
All I did this evening was unpack, wash a few clothes, eat some curry, read a book and then sleep. But I did also run into a Spanish lady, staying in the same hotel, so I practiced a little Spanish on her.
