Man the view is good this morning! Outside our dorm is just hills with forest and clouds coming up from bellow and you can see a distant city, maybe Madurai, who knows. No other buildings visible below us.
We'd previously arranged to meet Austin (guy from the office who came with us as did Pabs) at 8, but only David and I were up. Ben shortly joined us though, as did Jenny and Rachida. There were lots of other volunteers as well from other placements, but I didn't know many of them.
After some breaky we headed off on what had been described to us as a 3 hour trek, but to be honest, it could be done in about 30mins. It did however take us near 4 hours, as we stopped and took lots of photos, and there were a few river crossings were people tried not to get wet etc etc.
The place we headed was to a rock that sticks out over the valley, called dolphin rock I think. It was quite cool, and we spent a long time sitting at the end, posing for photos.
After we made it back, we met the others, had lunch, then seemed to loose most of the volunteers I didn't know and headed off on a bus to see some sites. Problem was though, the clouds had come up the hill, and so we couldn't actually see anything!
The bus dropped us back in the centre, where there's a big lake, surrounded by lots of shops full of stuff you'd expect to find in pound shops. There was lots of horses around, and most of us went for a little ride around the lake. Even though the men leading them on bikes fleeced us, it was still quite fun.
Dinner was frustrating, as we ordered lots of stuff, and then when half didn't come, we asked were it was, they replied with, 'We've stopped serving that now'. Idiots. Eventually we all got fed, then walked back to our dorm where we had a little party to celebrate Ben's birthday as it turned midnight.
