the border with Gaza

Text written in: English

Shir and I went with 1000 other people in buses and private cars to deliver food that we had purchased to their neighbors in Gaza.  The day before in Jerusalem we participated in a silent peace walk that went all around the city, ending near the garden of gesthemane.  I went to a Muslim market (right after their friday prayers) and asked the man for what I should buy to bring to the Gazans - he helped me pick out milk powder, chickpeas, flour, rice, chocolate, sugar, tea, tobacco for the hookahs, some desserts, and sardines.  At the border (which is closed, threatening a humanitarian crisis and forcing the Gazans to break down the wall to Egypt) we collected 4 tons of food, and the army agreed to deliver it Monday.  There's an article here:

Photos / videos of "the border with Gaza":

a blurry picture of Shir and Adam in their living room where I slept on Friday in Jerusalem the silent peace walk, going through the 'New' City and around the outside of the 'Old' City; the police wouldn't let us in (because the night before a soldier was killed in East Jerusalem, security was higher) on Saturday at the wall between Israel and Gaza, delivering food a truck with a third of the collected food chanting slogans. there was controversy in the crowd because many people showed up with many different views and agendas, and not everything shouted was agreeable to all come to save the day a cell-phone speech. I'm going to start a band where the lead singer sings via a cell-phone that is held to the mic by an innocent audience member. This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken I think.
