I arrived in Valparaiso yesterday in the afternoon. My friend Freddy picked me up at the bus station. We went to his sister's place where I'm staying at because Freddy still lives with his mother.

In the evening we went out with his cousin and some friends of his cousin. I really enjoyed it! We had some great conversations about life in Chile. Truth be told, I felt a bit sad because the life is a way harder than I thought. Freddy's cousin studied tourism at a University and is now working at a hotel. She earns 250 Euros a month! You should consider that Chile is the most expensive country in Latin America so it's just a little bit cheaper than it is in Europe. How can somebody who earns so less afford to travel or take a vacation? Life is so unequable...

Today we went to the beach in Vina del Mar. It was great! I never saw such huge waves in my life! Afterwards, we went to Freddy's mom. It was really cool because there is a lot going on - his nephews where there, also some of his brothers and sisters (Freddy has 3 sisters and 5 brothers so imagine how big the whole family is!!) with whom I had some great conversations. In the evening, we prepared some food and had dinner together. It was great, I really enjoyed spending some time with them, because I am already a bit sick of the hostel life where everybody speaks English and thinks about how to get drunk and kill time.

It's 10 pm now and we are going to have a drink with his sister.
