Pleasantly surprised

Text written in: English (UK)

Maybe a bit too much Chang beer - I missed my beakfast!

Got a ticket for the boat to Phi Phi (£8.50, including the minibus to the port) and boarded the boat to Phi Phi.

Had no idea what to expect, knew it would be commercial and upmarket, but it's quite nice. Loads of guys at the pier trying to get you a hotel, but decided to make my own way to the Nice Beach Bungalows. They were charging the same as the guys at the pier were telling me, so didn't save any money. Booked a bamboo hut on the beach (£18.50), similar to the ones in Koh Phayam, but a bit more upmarket. Quick shower and headed out to see what's about. It's quite nice - they've created a paved road with shops and bars and restaurants all the way along it. It's definately upmarket, but still nice to be able to get sub £20 accommodation.

I cant upload any pictures here cos the computer doesn't have a memory stick slot. I'll try again later.

So, off to have tea and check out the night life and then off to Koh Lanta tomorrow.
