More buses!!

Got to Surat Thani in three hours and then had to buy a ticket for another bus to the ferry an hour away and the boat over to Samui. This cost about £5.

Arrived at the port and boarded a big vehicle ferry for the one and a half hour ride over to Samui. This left almost straight away - I seem to have been lucky with my timings today and have arrived at the bus/boat just as it is about to leave.
