So...its raining in paradise. I arrived yesterday to blissful sunshine and checked myself into this random guesthouse run by an Israeli  guy. The house is only 500m from the beach, yet backs onto the forest behind the town. Free internet, laundry, coffee and tea etc and only $20/night. Bargain! So I wake up this morning and it is completely overcast and pissing it down with rain. Not the weather I need since this was meant to be skydive day. So.....changing my plans I decided to walk through the forest to go and see the Waigangi Treaty to get some culture in me instead. It was really interesting to read and hear about how nz became nz and the walk through the forest was amazing. Really cool views. I think I must have walked 13km in all and in this heat that was a toughy. It was dolphin cruise day today, I booked a half day afternoon tour to the hole in the rock and to see the dolphins. I saw no dolphins, but I did see a shark's fin which was kind of exciting. Im glad I hadnt paid for it (i got out with my bus pass) as it costs $77/person which seems like a bit of a rip-off...but I'll probably still try to sell it at work. At an even higher price hehehe. Hopefully the weather will be getting better from tomorrow and I will get to jump out of a plane sometime soon.
