Weather is cool but not icy like yesterday - which was the first day we had to put jackets on.

After a liesurely breakfast, we headed into the city of Varna.  Decided not to do any tours today as we figured we might be able to find our own way around - pity the locals don't speak much english though.  Karen bought a couple more scarves at the first little touristy shop we saw and Jo fell in love with a leather bag that she just had to have - at the right price ofcourse.  Changing money is no problem as there are money changers everywhere and the rates are much better than on the ship, but we seem to keep being left with bits of money from each different country.  always have to make sure that we have enough to pay for toilets - which are of very varying states pf cleanliness and availability - but needs must, on some occasions!

Have had a very pleasant morning strolling around the main streets which appear to be closed off to vehicle traffic - which is lovely for a change as we always tend to look the wrong way when attempting to cross streets here.  Damn drivers all drive on the wrong side of the road :)

Karen has bought her favourite perfume at a good price today so she is happy.  Jo looks every bit the Eurpoean model in her leather jacket and new handbag.  She even went to buy matching gloves but they worked out way too expensive, so thankfully common sense did kick in and we left the pink leather gloves on the counter for the next unsuspecting tourist...

Addendum - by the time we finished our initial post today the weather had changed and was raining.  We wandered around a bit more and found a lovely little spot for lunch.  Very inexpensive and good food.  Walked back to the ship in light rain. We have decided that neither rain, hail, nor sleet nor snow or intoxication will slow us down!!
