Awoke to another beautiful day and had breakfast with a lovely view of cargo containers. We were up early as we had a 10 hour tour of Florence and Pisa to do.
Wow - Florence what a magnificant city with the most beautiful buildings. Visted the Cathedral of Sante Croce where a lot of famous people are buried including Gallelieu and Machevilli. Saw the replica of the statue of David.
The mountains that surround this region is where the most pure white marble comes from. The carrera marble.
We only had half an hour for shopping and Florence is renowned for it's leather and gold products. We were not going to miss out and both of us bought ourselves leather jackets. Got an absolute bargain, Karen bought a Prada bag (a real one). Was then given the name of some one at another store to go and buy some gold. Jo bought a little something for Claire.
Got propositioned by a lovely young Italian male - pity he was old enough to be my son! [Jo]
Visited Pisa to see the leaning tower. Amazed by the amount of African's hustling for you to buy their copy watches, bags and any thing else that takes your fancy.
Along the way back to the Port I was gobsmacked to see the Prostitues dotted along the road. Blimey it was day light! There is a very big US base in this area so figured that there is obviously a lucrative market there.
