The Cats Pyjamas

In Whitianga we stayed in the Cats Pyjamas which was a really nice hostel and a friendly host. We got a ferry out across the bay and walked up to the front beach. From there we went up Shakesphere cliff where there was fantastic views of Lonely Bay and the beaches. (hope I find those pics!)

On Saturday, we drove to the Hot Water beach where you can "dig your own hole" literally and make your own private spa pool. It was good fun. The hot water comes from under the sand and fills the hole. There were loads of people around doing the same. We met a really nice guy from California called Shiraz and we chilled at the lovely Catheral Cove beach and chatted for the evening.
