We stopped at the lovely Hammer Springs spa on the way. We arrived late and settled into the Sunrise Lodge (one of the nicest hostels we've been to in NZ) with dinner & wine.

On Tuesday we got free bikes from the hostel and  went down to the seal colony on the beach and did the beautiful cliff side walk. Stopped for some local fish on the way back. Later the hostel owner, Marc, took us on a tour of the area and to a great lookout for sunset.
