Phnom Penh

Text written in: English

Arriving in Phnom Penh we could see that this was a really nice city.
After lookin at a couple of places we checked into a nice cheap hotel
not far from the river front.

The next day, Rob, Stef, Sinead & I hired a tuk tuk to drive us around
for the day (only 9 dollars in total).first we went to Choeung Ek
which are the killing fields. Here there is a memorial to the 8985
victims of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge between 1975 and 1979. Almost
as sad was the next place we visited which was a school that was
converted into a prison where Pot's men tortured and held so many
Cambodians for no reason.

After that grim morning we went to see the magnificent Royal Palace
and Silver Pagoda. That evening we met up with our northern mates
Paul, Lauren and Charlie (dutch) for a few beevies.
