Turtles or tortoises? Not sure... but they are the "family pets" at Villa Baldasseroni. Alessandra tells us that her grandmother was given a turtle on the day she was born... that was 100 years ago. That turtle and all of its descendents are still living in the rose garden. They are the resident "garbage disposals" as they will eat any of your leftovers that you don't want... providing it's soft enough for them to eat. What a place that the family pet is 100 years old!!
