Checkpoints, Lots of Checkpoints......

Text written in: English

Crossing the border to Nigeria, in the Beninese side it was easy and smooth, the border officials was very friend, every passport asked us where we want to put the stamp on. In the Nigerian side, start to feel strange. When we walked into the 'empty' police station, one official came out tell us to wait, then he back into his office counting money with two other officers. After a while, we were called into his office, he seemed very nice but not so long he start to ask 'gift'. End up Ben gave him a funny sunglasses, then the progress became smooth. After an hour or so, we finally got entry stamps. On the way to Abeokuta, there were many different checkpoints. Some were with uniformed officers, Some were just look like people from the street, God knows they were real government officers or not. And, most of them were like to ask for 'gift', either dollar or other stuff. It's Nigeria.
