I took a international bus to Beirut. The bus terminal was far away from the centre, I tried to get in minibus but always failed with my big backpack. End up I needed to take a taxi. In the terminal I met an Australian who stayed in a same dorm in Hama, he was going to Beirut as well. Good!
Crossing the border was easy. But in the Syrian side I'd seen something bad from the border officials... At the Lebanon side it was very smooth. about an hour later, I was woke up by the bus assistant, he asked me to get off. When we got off the bus, I saw our backpacks were already out of the bus on the roadside and the bus left immediately, left us in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately there was a minibus passed through and took us to the centre, a young man in the minibus told us we were in the very edge of the city. I wouldn't believe the big bus do that to us.
Walked around the city in the afternoon, we saw a car bombing news on TV, 9 people were killed included one anti-Syrian politician. It was happened somewhere in the city, but pretty far from the tourist area. This is my first day in Lebanon, wondering is that kind of a warm welcome?!
