Hama

Text written in: English

Hama is a nice city, peasant and quiet. Many shops are closed at afternoon for the heat and reopen again in the evening, feel like in Iran. Attraction for the city itself is the 'noriad', water wheels. I did a day trip to Crac Des Chevalier, one of the well keep castle in Syria. from outside there was very good look. But inside it was a bit disappointed to me.

Today (13th) is the first day of the Ramadan, the Muslim people stop eating and drinking (nothing can pass their lips) from dawn til dusk. Everything closed except veggie market and some sweet shops. Fortunately I can find one of the grill chicken shop open so I can have my dinner there. it is hard to imagine that they can close business for a month like this. It is also a challenge to me, to be polite I will try to not eating in front of other people at the day time, but it's not that easy. Actually they are not everybody followed, I saw some people still eating and drink. So, why not me?
