Capital of Kurdistan

Text written in: English

Three hours share taxi to Arbil (Erbil, or Howre in Kurdish) by a share taxi. Seems the local Kurdish people like to have a early lunch, about 10:30am. When we were taken an early lunch, a Kurdish old man who in the same taxi insist to pay for my lunch, very hospitality people.

In Arbil, I walked up to the Kala (Citadel), but now there is a army base, only two museums opened to visitors. These two museums were good though, have air-condition. It is very important in this hot afternoon (about 40C).

Arbil claimed as one of the first settlement in the world. But nowadays I was hard to see many ancient stuff. Even the Citadel looks pretty new at this time. I met several soldiers who were from Baghdad in a local restaurant, they insist to pay me a dinner. They said if I refuse they will take me to Baghdad and put me on street by myself......!! :-(  Of course I won't refuse to have a free dinner. :-)
