Samarkand

After making a big U-turn yesterday, I am changed direction backtracking east to China. Took a share taxi to Bukhara in the morning, then changed a bus to Samarkand, arrived at 5:30pm. Another long day.

Samarkand was one of the major city on the ancient Silk Road, and would be my last stop in the country, I will take few days rest here then say goodbye to the dry, hot flat land and heading up to the mountains -- The Pamirs.

It is a very nice city, I am enjoying to stay here. hung around in the morning, laid back in guesthouse or do some internet (extremly slow though) in the hot afternoon, I am really in holiday!

Visited a sunday bazaar which is about 40km away from Samarkand. The people there were so friendly. They like being taken photos, both to us or to them, vrey nice.

Decided to stay one more day (Monday) here, sort out some other things and send some picture to the local children before I leave the country. Tomorrow will cross border to Tajikistan.
