Moto 300-420km Nan City TXT

Text written in: English

Should I stay or should I go? Phayao is far.. but I am behind in my journey.

Later..

I decided to stay in Nan for the night, I find a nice hotel room that is a step up and more from the shanty of the previous night, it even has a TV with MTV, but no sound on MTV, so I'm stuck with Thai VH1. I read that Nan is very little traveled and for the second day I cannot spot another tourist or use any english to communicate. I guess the government had previously closed Nan from tourist as it was too dangerous, but it seems to okay now.. although there was a checkpoint after entering Nan province that I drove through and wasn't sure if I was supposed to stop, but the army guys let me be after I made eye contact going by. I miss the museam by minutes and just roam the streets, the market here is like no other, all locals and just a line of 100 motorbikes cramped into a small market with fruit and vegies.. I dare not roam into it. I walk around looking for a place to eat and find an Italian restaurant, I read about it beforehand and it is one of the only places that caters to tourist. But of course they only speak thai, and I am the only tourist, but I get pizza and beer and even though the pizza is mediocre and expensive, It is the best pizza ever (mostly from the joy of finding such a rare place with some familiarity to it) and I watch a Chinese movie on a bigscreen translated into Thai. After a couple large Chang beers I am tired and off to bed in my first A/C'd hotel.
