Water, water everywhere!

Text written in: English

Next stop, Iguazu Falls, right on the border between Brazil and Argentina.

They're stunning and we see them from both sides - Brazil for the panoramic view and Argentina to see them close up (recommended if you're going).  In Argentina we take a boat ride right underneath them and get heartily soaked, as we do when we walk towards the 'Devil's Throat', the most powerful of all the waterfalls in the area.  We see toucans, aligators and coatis (funny, racoon like things), as well as hundreds of butterflies and lots of rainbows.

We visit a bird park on the Brazilian side too but unbeknownst to Kirsty, a lot of the cages are open and so David walks with Leah (a ray of sunshine from Adelaide!) while Kirsty hot foots it to where the birds are caged (ie the nasty, aggressive ones) and the cafe is in sight.

And while we're in the area we visit Itaipu dam - one of the biggest in the world apparently.  Just a dam though and we're quite glad to get on the local bus (where Kirsty practises her Spanish by arguing with bus conductress) back to the campsite and another cocktail by the pool!
