My last day in Goreme, I walked for most of the day through the Rose & Red valleys...amazing!! Afterwards I hung out at a cafe with Ali and a Japanese guy who I met where I was staying. Ali & I played a few games of backgammon and we all drank lots of elma cay. I decided to try out a fine dining restaurant called Alaturka, supposedly the best restaurant in Anatolia..and I have no doubt about that! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the lovely staff, the place is amazingly decorated and the food was the best I've had on my travels by far! I caught the overnight bus to Aleppo, Syria also known as Halep. I had to change at a couple of places and at the first place I met this interesting lebanese man...we talked about everything, especially politics....he told me he had 4 wives...he used to have 6!!! I was actually grateful to meet him. Because he spoke english and I was the only foreigner on the buses...it helped a little.
