A day off

Text written in: English (UK)

Yesterday was my first day snowboarding EVER.

I did ok considering a) age b) ability and c) curvature of the earth.  It's just like water skiing.. in powder snow I was fine could carve it up with the best of them, but on the piste where there was ice and snow it was a different story.  I don't like hitting hard stuff at high speed.  Well.. not that I did... I don't remember falling over.

It was an interesing day. Darren was teaching me how to board... having boarded for many years he is a bit of a pro.

I am writing this the next morning.  Jo has hurt her knee and is asleep in bed and my legs are no longer strong enough to hold my weight.  I am feeling a lot fitter and now have stomach muscles that I never knew I had.  I even managed to tear the zip of my ski gear yesterday... that's the sort of speeds I was stopping suddenly from.

I am feeling quite fit actually. :-)
