It had been over five months since we last ventured out of the UK and with the weather in Reading and London proving more like winter than summer, we hit the air for a tropical retreat. This time we teamed up with friends Matt and Ness to reclaim our summer and La Cala, a small town on the Costa Del Sol just outside of Malaga, was the destination.
Before we left we had been regularly checking the BBC weather website and to our delight La Cala and Malaga were experiencing somewhat of a mini heat-wave (much like the rest of Europe except the UK). Temperatures were ranging from 35 to 43 and were predicted to continue....we were not disappointed with that outlook.
We arrived early Friday morning having caught the last Malaga flight out of Gatwick Thursday night. Arriving to our villa was just as expected. It was brand new having only been built and completed in April/May 2007. Check it out...will make sure anyone who wants to visit gets a good deal!
